Today's Resources & Lesson:
- Divide into groups of 2-3, each person needs a worksheet.
- Work together to try to remember the different parts of the balsa wood glider. We will review if need be.
- Acquire a working example of each of the 4 parts of the glider on your worksheet. Assemble the glider.
- Read over the Test Adjustments that you will be making to your glider. We will discuss the adjustments you will be making with pointers on how to make them.
- After each adjustment, head outside to test, weather permitting. If we cant go outside, we will designate an area. Test each adjustment at least 3 times, looking for a consistent change in the aircrafts performance. Record the consistent change on your worksheet.
- Also, be sure to take a picture of each adjustment you make. Share with everyone in your group.
- TIP: As you make each adjustment, be sure to reset your glider back to its base configuration. That would be the way it looked for the Base flight.
- If you have extra time, think about ways you might modify the performance of the aircraft even more. What have you seen modern day aircraft do?
